Cater Link working in partnership with St Benedict's school

Cater Link have been involved with St Benedict's school since September 2000.
The company was formed in 1998 by Tony Mckenna, when he recognised a niche market in contract catering during his experience as a consultant in the early 1990s.
We believe that catering services should be as friendly and as flexible as possible while meeting the needs of the students, giving them sufficient choice and encouraging them to provide feedback to our catering team.

Healthy Eating

Healthy Eating

Cater Link is proud of its ethos, especially our commitment to a fresh food policy.
Cater Link have been producing fresh food at St Benedict's long before Jamie Oliver began his campaign. Our policy is that 80% of all food is produced fresh on site. We do not serve convenience foods such as burgers or chicken nuggets and all our pizza's are made on site from fresh ingredients.

Cashless Payment System

Smartcard Cashless System, Questions and Answers

Cater Link use a cashless payment system known as the smartcard.
The cards are the same size as a credit card and have the school logo on the front. The 1st card is issued free of charge. There is a signature strip on the back for protection purposes along with a card number. The card number along with the childs name is held on the till system should a child lose or damage the card. Lost cards can be "hotlisted" which will stop anyone other than the authorised card holder using the card. If a card cannot be found a £3.00 charge is payable for a replacement. The funds and information from the lost card will then be transferred onto the new card. If a card is faulty it will be replaced free of charge. Cards damaged by other means will incur the £3.00 replacement charge.
Cards can be credited with a minimum of £5.00 payable by cheque only, made payable to Cater Link Ltd, from 8.10am until 8.40 am or at lunchtime only. Every time a card has money credited a receipt will be issued showing the amount of credit and the card balance.
